SPRING TOUR#1
The Ethereal Spring of Akigawa
~ Cycling through Blossoms & Savoring Satoyama Kaiseki ~
While Tokyo's city center bustles with cherry blossom viewers, the Akigawa Valley awaits as a hidden oasis in Tokyo's riverfront, known only to the locals.
Tour Highlights:
In spring, the mountains come alive with the soft pale pinks of wild cherry blossoms (Yamazakura) and the vivid pinks of azaleas (Tsutsuji), creating a breathtaking contrast against the fresh green of the valley.
Easy cycling through quiet, petal-filled paths while enjoying the pristine streams that defy the typical image of Tokyo, immersing yourself in the vibrant daily life of villages enveloped in flowers, and leisurely savoring your "Satoyama-kaiseki" meal—this is a blissful moment of pure, undisturbed harmony with nature.(5 hours)
Customization Options :
・Relaxed Pace (Guide-Driven Car & Walking):
For guests who prefer not to cycle, we offer an alternative experience using a private, guide-driven vehicle. The guide will take you between scenic locations, where you can step out and explore each spot at a relaxed walking pace, replacing the E-bike portion of the tour.
・Scenic Picnic Lunch:
Instead of the formal "Satoyama-kaiseki" course, we can prepare a lighter meal. Weather permitting, you can enjoy an elegant picnic amidst the rural landscape, dining directly under the cherry blossoms.
・Optional Scenic Hike (+60 mins):
Extend your journey with a short, light hike (approx. 60 minutes) to discover exclusive vantage points with breathtaking views.
・Curated Blooming Spots:
Our local guides constantly monitor the blooming conditions. They will curate your route on the day of the tour to ensure you are guided to the most spectacular spots at their absolute peak.
• Natural Hot Spring Foot Bath (+30 mins):
Soothe your legs in a foot bath sourced from natural hot springs. It is the perfect restorative ending after immersing yourself in the spring blossoms and village landscapes.

Meet at 10 a.m. at Tokyo Urayama Base
10:20- Cycling on a country road by the riverside
12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Garden Stroll & Lunch at Kurochaya: Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the traditional garden with scenic views overlooking the pristine stream, followed by an exquisite "Satoyama-kaiseki" meal.
(change to car transportation)
2:00 p.m. Visit to a "Shangri-La" Village & Temple: Wander through a hidden settlement that resembles a "Shangri-La," where the entire village and its ancient temple are enveloped in the vivid pinks of cherry blossoms and azaleas.
Return to Tokyo Urayama Base at 3 p.m. (or go to the hot springs)

This tour is an exclusive excursion available only to guests with a reservation at Park Hyatt Tokyo.
• Height Requirement for Cycling:
For safety reasons, participants wishing to join the cycling tour (E-bike rental) must be 140 cm (4ft 7in) or taller.
◦ Note: Guests under 140 cm or those who prefer not to cycle are welcome to join via our "Relaxed Pace" option (Private Car & Walking).

The House in the Sky" & A Satoyama Flower Paradise
〜Discover a hidden "Shangri-La" where history meets breathtaking nature〜

Your journey begins in a secluded Satoyama village, a living painting of soft cherry blossoms and vivid azaleas that creates a landscape of ethereal beauty.
From there, you will board a mountain monorail for a steep ascent to an altitude of 750 meters.Awaiting you at the summit is the "Kobayashi House in the Sky," an Important Cultural Property from the Edo period. Here, amidst the clouds, you will find the ancient residence surrounded by a spectacular bloom of pink azaleas—a sanctuary of history and vibrant colors, far removed from the world below.
Lunch at the Gorge: A Culinary Jewel Box & Sacred Water ExperienceFor lunch, indulge in a meticulously crafted "Tori-chirashi Sushi" bento.
With its vibrant array of seasonal ingredients, this traditional dish resembles a culinary jewel box.
You will savor this exquisite meal while gazing out at the breathtaking gorge—a scenic beauty so pristine it defies the typical image of Tokyo.
For those seeking a deeper connection with the forest, we offer an optional one-hour hike. We will guide you to a majestic 300-year-old giant cedar, where pristine spring water gushes from beneath its ancient roots. We will fetch this special water to brew a fresh cup of coffee, offering you a taste of the mountain's pure essence.

Journey through a "Shangri-La" Village
Drive along the pristine Akigawa River lined with cherry blossoms. You will make a stop at an ancient temple adorned with blooming plum and cherry trees, immersing yourself in the serene atmosphere of spring. Afterward, travel by private car through a hidden settlement that resembles a "Shangri-La." You will wander through the village enveloped in the soft hues of weeping cherry blossoms and the vivid pinks of azaleas—a true Satoyama floral paradise.

Garden Stroll & "Jewel Box" Lunch by the Gorge
Visit a traditional Japanese garden featuring an old-fashioned watermill and scenic views of the gorge. Enjoy a short stroll before savoring a special "Jewel Box" bento lunch. You will enjoy this exquisite meal, packed with seasonal colors, while overlooking the dramatic gorge or relaxing along the pristine riverside.

Travel into the Deep Mountains
Travel upstream by private car, driving deep into Hinohara Village—the only remaining village in mainland Tokyo—surrounded by towering mountains and lush nature.

Ascent to the "House in the Sky" & Tea on the Veranda
Arrive in Hinohara Village and board a private mountain monorail to ascend to an altitude of 750 meters. At the Edo-period "Kobayashi House," sit on the Engawa (sun-drenched veranda) to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea while soaking in the historic atmosphere.

Sacred Water & Coffee Experience
For those seeking adventure, enjoy a light hike to a majestic 300-year-old cedar tree to fetch pristine spring water. Upon returning, we will use this water to brew a fresh cup of coffee, allowing you to taste the mountain's pure essence.

ACCESS
Meeting place: Meet in front of JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station, where your tour guide will greet you.
Once we've gathered, we will move to Tokyo Urayama Base, located just a 1-minute walk from the front of the station, at 219-7 Tateya, Akiruno City, Tokyo.
It takes just over an hour to get there from the Park Hyatt by either car or train.
- By car
It takes about 1 hour from Shinjuku via the expressway.
Please consult the concierge for car arrangements.
- By train
It generally takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from Shinjuku Station to Musashi-Itsukaichi Station with normal transfers.
Take the JR Chuo Line from Shinjuku to Tachikawa Station, then change to the JR Ome Line to Haijima Station, and finally take the JR Itsukaichi Line to Musashi-Itsukaichi Station.
Sometimes there are direct trains on the Itsukaichi Line.
